A Message from the Associate Vice-President:

Welcome to the Academic Support Center and thank you for visiting our web site!

The Academic Support Center (ASC) provides college-wide learning assistance and support to students enrolled in DBC classes. To this end, ASC services are designed to help students develop the educational skills and strategies essential for academic achievement while supporting the faculty through the delivery of instruction and supplemental learning resources critical to their curricula.

The Center welcomes all DBC students and offers a variety of programs and services to maximize academic success. In addition to technology-mediated learning, the ASC offers peer and professional tutoring, online tutoring, academic coaching, Supplemental Instruction, Retention and Learning Skills Counseling,as well as the state funded Vocational Preparatory Program (VPI) and federally funded TRIO Student Support Services. Two of the college’s outreach and access programs, TRIO Upward Bound and College Reach-Out, are also housed in the center.

Each campus Center is a multimedia facility that is designed to supplement classroom teaching and learning activities. Together, the faculty and staff of the Academic Support Center are committed to enhancing your success as a DBC student and supporting the vitality of the learning community.

We look forward to seeing you in the Academic Support Center!
