Insurance
Medical - DBCC offers employees in regularly established positions a variety of medical, dental and pharmaceutical plans on a pre-tax basis through Section 125 Flexible Benefit Accounts. The college pays all or most of the cost for the employee. Spouse and family coverage is available at group rates through payroll deduction. Retirees may obtain coverage at their own expense.
Life Insurance -Employees receive free term life insurance payable to the beneficiary in an amount equal to twice the employee’s annual salary rounded up to the nearest thousand dollars. Accidental Death and Dismemberment is also included in the policy.
Long Term Disability - Employees receive free disability insurance after a 30 day waiting period. After a 90 day waiting period, employees with a qualified disability receive 60% of their salary for a certain period of time.
Tax Sheltered Savings Programs - Tax sheltered annuity and custodial account programs are available with various companies through payroll deduction.
Worker’s Compensation - All college employees are entitled to compensation for occupationally incurred illnesses and injuries.

Retirement
DBCC employees are eligible to participate in the Florida State Retirement System (FRS). The college makes the entire retirement contribution percentage of the individual’s salary required by the Retirement System. An employee is vested after earning 6 years of creditable service.
Faculty and administrators may choose to participate in the Optional Retirement Program in lieu of FRS. The college contributes to an annuity on behalf of the employee which is immediately vested.

Wellness
A comprehensive wellness/fitness facility is available to employees who have successfully passed their probationary period and a routine physical exam. |

College Courses and Education Benefits
Fees for college courses at DBCC are eligible for reimbursement for employees and their dependents. Financial incentives are also available to employees who complete training or education degrees which result in demonstrated benefit to the college. |

Employee Assistance Program
This short term counseling program assists employees and their dependents with personal problems which may affect job performance. Confidential professional help is provided for family stress, adjusting to health problems, drug or alcohol abuse, financial difficulties, emotional disorders, or legal problems. The program is voluntary and free to the employee or family members. |
