Community Service
The Community Service Leadership Committee was established in Fall of 2003 with the purpose of organizing what was an existing concept into a formal process. The student-athlete based committee met initially to discuss ideas for possible community service projects and to set goals for the year. The 2006-2007 Committee continued with this process and once goals were set, met regularly to report progress. Our goal for the year was for each team to do at least one community service project and two major projects together. Members of the committee, which consisted of one freshman and one sophomore from each team, were required to submit a report to the committee coordinator. They were also encouraged to take pictures and/or collect materials from the event. The reports and materials are kept in a binder for reference by the Committee Coordinators. |

September 2006
September 6 - Athletic team information table for the Fall Welcome Back.
September 29 - American Heart Association's Heart Beach Walk-collected donations totaling $1,394

October 28 - Supported the Fall Open House
December 2006
December 7 - Assisted children in making craft items
Participated in the WESH Channel 2 "Share Your Christmas" by collecting food items for food drive, Thanksgiving through Dec. 9
December 8 - Collected food items donated by the DBC employees during the Holiday Open House
December 11 - Volunteered at the Daytona Beach Sunshine Park helping with the collection and packing of food boxes donated by the entire Daytona Beach Community

January 12 - Helped at the Major League Believer instructional baseball clinic and showcase camp
January 17 - Supported at the Athletic team information table during the Spring Welcome Back

February 7 - Participated in the Inaugural National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) Celebration
